Lalitha Balasubramanian did her graduation in Science from the University of Mumbai and her Post Graduation in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Institute of Mass Communication and Management. She has also acquired a Diploma in Creative Writing from the Writers Bureau, Manchester, U.K.She worked in the Editorial department of the Institute for Research in Reproduction (ICMR), Mumbai, before switching to freelance writing. She has written education and career-related articles for the Times of India group of publications like Education Times, Economic Times and Mumbai Mirror. She has also contributed many lead articles on travel for Discover India and health for Complete Wellbeing and Silver Talkies. Her short stories have appeared in Women’s Era, DNA Me, News Shuttle, and other magazinesApart from this, she has authored two books, a travelogue on God’s own country, titled “Kerala the Divine Destination” published by Leadstart Publishing Pvt. Ltd. (2015) and the “Temples of Maharashtra – A Travel Guide”(2017) detailing the history, architecture, legends and festivals of prominent temples in Maharashtra. She has also written a book for children titled “Grandma’s Tales of Sri Krishna” (2018). Apart from writing, Lalitha is also interested in the Fine Arts and classical music and has been trained in Carnatic music. A voracious reader, she is also a keen follower of sports.
